Railroad, cotton and a car plant
The Southern Pacific Railroad brought Casa Grande into being in 1879. Cotton and dairy farms followed, and Lucid opened its manufacturing plant here in November 2020. The city's name comes from the Casa Grande Ruins in nearby Coolidge.
